This trip starts in Chiang Mai where you will stay outside of the old city at a nature resort consisting of teak bungalows on stilts in traditional Thai style. This beautiful spot is perfect to recover from a long flight and get used to the tropical climate, or just relax after a busy holiday. Upon arrival, you will receive extensive information about your tour.
This tour is perfect for those who enjoy a bit of a challenge and want to experience the beauty beyond Chiang Mai’s city limits. We’ll pick you up from your hotel in the city center and head out into the peaceful countryside toward Samoeng. There, you’ll meet your mountain biking guide, who knows this route inside out.
The ride starts easy, passing through serene rice paddies before gradually climbing into the lush greenery at the base of the Doi Kiew Lom mountain range. Along the way, we’ll stop at a Karen minority village, where you’ll have the chance to walk around, soak in the atmosphere, and learn about their unique culture and way of life.
Further up, we’ll visit a Hmong village, offering another opportunity to explore and connect with local traditions. From there, get ready for a solid uphill ride—challenging, but absolutely worth it. As we climb the hills around Doi Kiew Lom, you’ll be rewarded with stunning mountain views, rich greenery, and the occasional glimpse of wildlife.
There will be plenty of chances to pause, catch your breath, and take in the scenery. Eventually, we’ll rejoin the main road for a smooth, scenic downhill ride back, surrounded by more unforgettable views
We stop for an elephant-friendly experience. Local Karen people take care of the elephants, no more logging or elephant riding. Feed the elephants, interact and play with the elephants in their natural environment. Take a mud spa with the elephants and walk them to a beautiful waterfall for more water fun. Photo opportunity aplenty.
We take a ride to the south of Chiang Mai and from here you go on a trek through the mountains to visit hill tribe villages. You walk through dense forest, open areas, plantations owned by mountain people and sometimes along or through rivers. In the early afternoon, we walk down the hills for a bamboo rafting trip. The rafts are made from bamboo, by connecting long bamboo sticks. The water can splash through the gaps between the sticks and you might get you wet (again). You will descend the river at a relaxing pace, enjoying the natural surroundings of lush greenery and beautiful mountain views.
Morning: Take an ATV adventure through the hills north of Chiang Mai with the best ATV operator in the north of Thailand. You will drive a 3-hour route that will take you both on and off-road through a diverse range of mountain landscapes. You will be picked up from your Chiang Mai hotel and on arrival, you will have a comprehensive instructional and safety briefing to prepare you for the ride ahead.
Afternoon: Whipping fast through the air on ziplines, with the jungle on both sides as you fly by. You will leave the busy world behind and immerse yourself deep into the jungle. Around the zipline course are platforms suspended high up in the trees, with spectacular jungle views surrounding you. You can see paddy fields along the Mae Ram river far below. There are bridges and steps to traverse between platforms. Safety is the number one priority, so you will be hooked into a safety cable that runs above you. That way you can have fun without worrying about falling. Enjoy the views and speed.
After breakfast, your tour ends here. You can take the train or plane back to Bangkok, we can book another onward flight or you can extend your holiday differently, all up to you.
